The Core DJs Mixshow Live 2012 brought the heat to Dallas, highlighted
by lots of star power and networking for Artist, DJs and music lovers! Some of the celebrities were No Limit, LLC
Master P, Trae Da Truth from ABN, up & coming talent from across the
states. I salute a big Shout out to DJ
Green Lantern, DJ Bigga Rankin, CEO of VirDiKo DJ Big Daddie, Coast2Coast Mixtape CEO Lil Fatt, DJ Du2ce of Sko-N-Go
Muzic, DJ Scratch, Defintion DJ Drop and the whole Definition DJ family.
Although it was a good show; it could’ve been much better promoted
locally (“just keepin’ it real”). Many
Artist, DJs and supporters wasn’t even aware of the conference. Time after time, people were telling me that
they heard about it at the last minute.
Many up & coming Artist couldn’t take advantage of the networking
and promotional opportunity in their own city.
Many took it as a disrespect; it’s like you come and have a party at my
house, but you don’t invite me nor tell me about it.
Overall….it was a success. The showcases highlighted some of Dallas’ Artist. Yung Nation and Jett proved that they are ready to soar to the next level. I wish I would have seen more of our talented A list Artist; like, Pooca Leroy, Treal Lee & Prince Rick and T.Cash, show the world that we are a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop game.
Big S/O to Tony Neal and the Core DJs Looking forward to next year .......
Mix Show Live was promoted on K104, Dallas Morning News, The Examiner, Allhiphop.com, Twitter and Facebook. Definition DJ's and Go DJ's were represented at the event. If the DJ/Artist relationships in Dallas aren't good enough to pass the word along, then Dallas artists will have a hard time getting their music past Dallas. Pooka Leroy didn't perform because he wanted to promote this time, his whole camp was involved. Treal Lee & Prince Rick were recognized on Sunday and broke their record at a Core DJ Retreat previously so theyre veterans to this event and T Cash performed at Onyx on Friday. If Dallas is waiting on personal invites to industry events, they're going to be waiting. We've got to keep our ears to the streets and know when an event of that magnitude is coming too. Artists have to be held responsible for their success and their success depends on staying relevant and keeping up with whats going on around them....
